Another thought for men…

As I said on Sunday, I really believe this past Sunday’s message is one of the most important ones we could hear as a community.

As husbands, if we will depend upon God to love our wives as God commands, the potential immediate and generational impact is nearly immeasurable.

To this end, I wanted to include a couple more practical steps that can help us move further in this direction as we seek to “love our wives as Christ loves the church…”

1. Be aware of and constantly monitoring 5 Key Areas in your marriage.

• Communication.
• Money.
• Sex.
• Children.
• In-Laws.

These are common pitfalls for nearly all marriages and “loving our wives” requires that we keep watch on them and lead well in these areas.

2. Become a “student of your wife.”

Like I said on Sunday, we have to learn how our wives need to be loved, not the way we want to love them. For the greatest impact, we need to learn and do the specific things that make our wives feel nourished and cherished—not just random things. Do these things first, throw the random things on top of them and God will be glorified and great things will happen in your home.
