Vision: Equipping Parents to Teach Their Kids about God.
Our Ministry recognizes and organizes itself around the following two truths:
- Parents are called by God to be the primary agents of spiritual instruction and character formation in their children’s lives.
- The Church is called to come alongside parents to encourage, equip, and support parents as they fulfill this most important calling.
Key Passage: Deuteronomy 6:1-3 ESV
6:1 “Now this is the commandment, the statutes and the rules [1] that the Lord your God commanded me to teach you, that you may do them in the land to which you are going over, to possess it, 2 that you may fear the Lord your God, you and your son and your son’s son, by keeping all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be long. 3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and be careful to do them, that it may go well with you, and that you may multiply greatly, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey. ”
Strategy: Above all else, it is a PARTNERSHIP WITH PARENTS.
What we do on Sunday:
- Quality Kids Time:
- Family worships together - As interactive as possible: offering, singing with instruments, etc.
- Introduced to the Story of the week
- The Big Truth Questions and Memory Verse for the Month
- Little Groups:
- Taught an age-appropriate lessons, do crafts, etc. (Generations of Grace, MacArthur)
What You Do During the Week:
- Leveraging the ride home.
- Nightly “Family Worship” time.
- Teachable moments, drive time. Any opportunity to teach your kids about God!
Equipping Strategy: Combination of Resources, Classes, Mentoring
- Quarterly: Classes, Guest
- Monthly: Articles, Cd’s etc.
- Weekly: Blog, vblog, links to websites, etc.
- Ongoing: Mentoring, open door for questions. Mentoring.
